We aim to nurture pupils who not only understand the world around them but also have the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on it.
The creative arts are woven throughout our curriculum, with a strong emphasis on drama and performance, oracy, music, and art. These elements provide children with rich opportunities to express themselves, explore their talents, and develop confidence. Alongside the arts, we celebrate the importance of sport and physical education. Through team games and events, swimming, and learning to climb our distinctive climbing wall, children build resilience, teamwork, and a love for physical activity. We are proud to showcase our pupils’ achievements and creativity at termly events with parents and the wider community.
At Marner Primary, we place equal importance on well-being, ensuring our children are happy, confident, and equipped with the self-knowledge to navigate life’s challenges. Our approach empowers pupils with the language to express their emotions, understand their causes, and, if necessary, find ways to feel better. We encourage responsibility, freedom, and leadership, embedding the UNICEF Rights of the Child into our daily practice and school culture.

At Marner Primary School, we believe in inspiring a journey of lifelong learning, guided by purpose and values, to ensure every child is equipped for a successful future. We focus on two key questions to help our pupils grow:
First, we ask a big question to shape our direction and purpose:
"Was I best I could be today?"
In answering this, we encourage each pupil to think about how they can strive to be their best self every day—making a positive impact on their learning, their relationships, and their community.
Second, we ask a small question each day for reflection and growth:
"Was I ready, respectful, and safe today?"
This encourages children to think about their actions, choices, and interactions as they navigate their learning journey.
